Baby gives his two cents on Minaj and Kim’s lyrical battle

The most talked about beef in hip-hop these days unexpectedly is coming from up-and-coming rapstress Nicki Minaj and Brooklyn vet Lil’ Kim. XXLMag,com recently caught up with Minaj’s boss, Cash Money co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams, to find out what he thinks about the situation.

According to Baby, neither him nor his label ever wanted to get involved in beef, but in this case he has to roll with the punches. “Well, you know with Nick we’re just doin’ music, I don’t care to get caught up in that and I don’t care to make money off of that,” he said. “We never fucked with that. It is what it is. That’s not our thing, but it is what it is so we gotta let it be what it be.”

Speaking on Kim’s initial problem with Nicki failing to give her respect publicly for paving the way for female rappers, Birdman said he disagrees. “Nicki is grown, Nicki does her own thing, I don’t think she has to— nobody has to salute or be saluted, we in this hustlin’,” he said. “The hustle gonna make you salute, just watchin’ a nigga grind and see how he shine. Nicki’s with her team, we ain’t doin’ nothing expect putting out good music. So if somebody’s fuckin’ with that, to me, they’re violating. Bullshit don’t weigh nothing, the grind and the money do.”

Young Buck Talks G-Unit & 50 Cent Reunion

Young Buck recently stopped by the Tim Westwood show in the UK to speak about what he feels it would take to have a G-Unit reunion and his current thoughts on his situation with 50 Cent. First Buck spoke about issues with 50 Cent, saying he doesn't see it as a "beef."

"I will wait and hear a response from 50 [Cent] at this point and see where he goes at. I'm at a point in my career, honestly man, I don't even look at my situation dealing with them as a beef. It's not a beef. It's a situation, man. [Me going back?] To be continued -- I know the picture you was left with before you done seen Buck again. It was one big family. It was a movement and it was a beautiful movement and I think the fans enjoyed that and I think they want that still. I wouldn't definitely just turn down the situation at this point but it would have to be done in a genuine way as far as the whole movement of what it should be."

Buck then went on to talk about a possible reunion with G-Unit and how he and The Game made peace.

"It would just have to be done in a genuine way -- I done [reconciled] with Game because in reality I don't feel like the situation of when there was a situation dealing with the G-Unit and Game it was a situation where I would consider beef...When you consider beef, that's a whole different world. A lot of these are just considered misunderstandings but they're able to make it to the beef categories and carried out like that."

Finishing up, Young Buck also spoke about what it means to promote himself independently, without the back up of G-Unit.

"I've been still signed to G-Unit these last past three years...At the end of the day, I have had no communication with anybody from over there. I've kept my own relevance by releasing mixtapes and doing exactly what I've got to do as an artist...I have no problem with them dudes. They do what they do. I do what I do."

One-Day Sales: Kanye & Nicki Battle For 2nd

After his new "Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" album easily racked up the number one spot on the charts during its debut week, the second week of sales could be a problem for the hit rapper slash producer. Not only will Kanye have to fight off urban competition with new albums by the Black Eyed Peas, Jazmine Sullivan and even Chrisette Michelle, but he could lose his number one spot to singer Susan Boyle and her "Gift."

Based on one-day sales, it's looking like the two main albums Kanye will have to face is The Black Eyed Peas' new "The Beginning" album, along with the tv-related "Glee Cast Volume 4." Both albums are currently on track to sell around 110-125k, but that won't be enough to bother the number one album, which as of now seems to be Ms. Boyle. For 2nd place on the charts next week, it will be a simple battle between Kanye and Nicki Minaj.
